The Mosaic Art And Sound
The Mosaic Art And Sound is a private company based in London, UK, and founded in 2003.
It develops projects in two directions: education/culture with social aspects and architecture.
In the social field, The Mosaic has developed projects to enhance human relationships, addressed to adults and children, disadvantaged adults and ethnic minorities. In the area of education and culture, it has been mainly active in research and applications of music as an art and a science, through research projects, workshops, seminars, In-service training courses and live events of performing arts.
The Mosaic coordinated a Grundtvig 1 project on how to apply sound to enhance listening skills and intuitive intelligence. This provided a course for teachers and trainers both in the formal and non-formal educational sectors, delivered in several European countries and in continuous demand.
The Mosaic has been partner of a Lingua project addressed to children, parents and teachers to promote multicultural activities and foreign languages awareness, especially LUWTL (Less Widely Used and Taught Languages) through the use of lullabies, (www.lullabies-of-europe.org); the project’s website has been visited by more than a 1,56 million visitors to date.
It is the coordinator of a Comenius multilateral project “The European Children’s Travelling Language Library – EuroLib”, targeted at motivating children to understand the value of language learning, the culture and beauty of books, and to build a love of reading as the best form of autonomous lifelong learning. The project promotes the reinforcement of emerging literacy.
The Mosaic is active in the framework of various Grundtvig and Leonardo partnerships addressing various social issues concerning migrants, social inclusion and multiculturalism. The Mosaic also liaises with UK Councils to disseminate the projects’ deliverables and to promote initiatives for adults and children.
